When we host we like to have a theme for our gathering with coordinated fall themed drink option. Clever names for the drink add to the fun as well. Sometimes they are quirky and classy and sometimes they are a little less polished. Being in the healthcare field, and with over a foot of snow on the ground, we came up with one we couldn't repress. We called it, "Beware the Yellow Snow." I know, not the classiest of names, but the guests enjoyed it.
Beware the Yellow Snow
- 2 parts spiced apple cider
- 1 part spiced rum
- sugar and cinnamon coat the rim by dipping them first into some cider and then into your cinnamon/sugar mixture
- frozen apples and cranberries
- Rim the glasses {I used Mason Jars} with the cider, sugar, and cinnamon
- In lieu of ice {and for presentation} I used sliced frozen apples and frozen cranberries to keep the drinks cold
- If you are having a large huber of guests, pre prepare glasses up to this point so they are ready for you to pour your guests a drink as they arrive
- Glasses are ready to go and looking good, now it's time to pour your cocktail!
